I did it

Well, I ended up taking the pill. Though with hind sight being 20/20 I probably could have done it without. I did end up sleeping for 7 hours after wards, so that was nice.

I went through all of that just to find out that I should get a Cortisone shot in my spine. Which I went through Friday. It wasn’t so bad either, but I’m glad it’s over.

Maybe now I can start feeling normal again, instead of hunched over and such.

He got it right…

I had a bit of a refreshing experience today.

My wife and I stopped to get a drink. When we pulled up we noticed that the drive up was fairly busy, but having a sleeping newborn in the car we didn’t want to not go through the drive up, besides this particular place has no indoor tables, everything is brought to you in your car.

There were several cars in front of us as we placed our order. Slowly we made our way to the front and we waited and we waited. At least four times (and four different people) we were asked if the order they had in their hands was ours, I politely said “No, we have…..” and repeated my order to them. I was starting to get upset. How hard can it be to put too much ice in a cup and fill the drink with the requested liquid? It certainly shouldn’t take the amount of time that it was taking.

Finally, one young man on roller skates said “I’ll get you your order and you won’t have to pay” after asking if the order in his hands was mine for the second time. My immediate thoughts were “Right, I have a feeling that I’m not going to see you again”.

After several more minutes and a few more questions about whether the order they had was ours, the young man came out with our drinks. True to his word, he had brought us our order and we didn’t have to pay. He just gave them to us and sent us on our way.

I’ve spent my fair share of time arguing with people at the counter, over the phone, etc. over all kinds of things. So much so that I’m almost starting to feel like it is a requirement to get things done the way that I feel they should be done. I’m not a demanding person, I just want to make sure that I get what I feel is fair. In other words, if I ask for a Hamburger with no mustard, I should get a hamburger with no mustard.

It was very nice to have the kind of reaction as this young man did, and make things right even though he didn’t need to.

Oh and the drink wasn’t half bad either.

Do I take it or not?

I’m scheduled for an MRI next week. I’m trying to decide if I really need to take the Valium that the Doc has given me.

While I’m not intensely claustrophobic, I still don’t like extremely tight places.

I should note that I’ve never had an MRI before. I’ve only heard what others have gone through and are people really going to share their stories about how great it was to be stuck in a small torpedo tube for at least 30 minutes? Also I’ve never taken Valium before either.

Anyone out there have any advice for me?
