We drove through the park from Gardiner to Jackson to Idaho Falls today.  It was a nice relaxing Sunday drive.  We’re both not ready to go home, but we miss the kids.

We were actually bored tonight after we checked in.  We got here pretty early and it was raining, so we didn’t go for a walk along the Falls.  Oh well, going to bed early isn’t such a bad thing I guess.

We did exactly as expected today, we slept in and spent the day wandering around Yellowstone.

We weren’t in any kind of a hurry, which was nice.

We saw a Buffalo meandering down the road, which was cool to see, but I was grateful that he wasn’t headed our direction.

We got to Old Faithful about 5 minutes before it erupted and spent much of the day shopping and hiking through various areas of the park.

Overall it was a nice relaxing day, which is exactly what the two of us needed.

Today is my sweethearts birthday.  I won’t tell you how young she is, but I think that she’s had a good day.

This morning we got up and went to the Rexburg Temple.  We had wanted to do sealings but were unable to do so, but we did some other things and had a good time.

When we went back to check out of our room I saw a newspaper that said a disoriented man had been found (and removed) from the room of the Temple the day before.

We then drove to Gardiner, stopping at Big Springs and West Yellowstone along the way.  We had only been in the park for about 10 minutes when we saw a bunch of Elk in the river and had to stop and get some photos.

Once we got to Gardiner, we went horseback riding, checked into out hotel and went out to dinner to celebrate.

This trip is her birthday present and so far I think that she’s enjoying herself.  We choose Yellowstone because she’s never been here before and I haven’t been for over 20 years.

Tomorrow we will spend all day in the park, but the part we’re looking forward to the most is that we have no timelines and don’t really need to be anywhere.

After work we dropped the kids off at various places and drove to Rexburg, Idaho.  We’re here just for the evening and will then continue on to Gardiner Montana tomorrow.

After the long week, I’m exhausted but excited for this weekend.  It should be fun.

I can’t believe how busy this week has been.

We got the glasses fixed last night, photos to come.  We just bought a new pair and will get her other pair repaired so that she has a back up to use when her primary pair are broken.
