I selected and began reading the book that I’d like to read for the remainder of my break.
It’s Soul of the Lion – A Biography of General Joshua L. Chamberlain. I bought it while in Gettysburg this summer. I’ve always been interested in Chamberlain’s life and am excited to read it. Now I just need to force myself to sit down and take a few moments to read. So far I’m on page 18. I’ve got a long way to go before next Monday.

About 3:00 this morning my wife heard the sound that every parents dreads this time of year.
I was only partially awake, but that changed quickly. Our son was throwing up. For the next 3 hours he received two baths, his sister (whom he shares a room with) received one and their bedding was changed at least twice. The great thing is that I have a wonderful wife who understands that I will vomit myself when confronted with it from other sources. So she was very good about cleaning it up and being on the front lines while I cowered in the other room offering assistance where I could.
You would think that after being parents for this many years that we’d learn to not put a sick child in bed with another child. The not sick child will be thrown up on every time.
It was cute at around 4:30 my daughter kept calling for my wife, so I went in to check on her. She wanted to tell me that her brother “didn’t throw up on me”. I assured her that was good and went back to bed.

The Body Worlds exhibit is currently in Salt Lake. It’s been here for the last few months. While I know that a lot of people find it pretty cool, I’m one that is ready for it to move on.
I haven’t seen the show and I’m honestly not planning on seeing it. I’m just really tired of the barrage of Ads, so recently when I saw that they added the “Now in its final weeks” to the Ads, I was pretty happy.
I’m just tired of seeing a skinned human body on nearly every Ad that I see. OK, maybe it’s not nearly every ad but it’s a lot.

I can’t stop shaking my head at this one.
The company that I work for shuts down from Christmas Eve to New Years day each year. We’ve done it for the last few years and I had been great.
The first couple of years I had PTO time that I needed to burn by the end of the year so I was able to take additional time off, but the last couple of years I’ve spent so much time camping, traveling, etc. over the summer that I haven’t had much left at the end of the year.
So I had most of last week off and have all of this week, with pretty much no plans to do much of anything.
So my goal for this week is to pick up a book and read. I’m not planning on reading War and Peace or anything, but just something that I can enjoy reading and that will help me relax.
So there you have it my goal for my week off. Now to figure out which book I should read.
