A “How To” that everyone should know!

OK, maybe just everyone in my family should know this one.

I have a very short list of things that I must have that my wife insists I cannot have.

They are:

  1. Guns
  2. Motorcycles
  3. Snakes

Well, I’ve finally been able to slowly get some guns and while I’ve not got all of them that I’d like to get yet, we’re working on it slowly.

After Ken’s death last year in a motorcycle accident, I think that my desire to have motorcycles is tempered a bit.  Though honestly, I’m more of an off-road motorcycle type of guy.  I’ve never really been an Street Bike person, but with her being a Nurse a motorcycle is a motorcycle, it doesn’t really matter what surface you’re driving it on.

So the next thing on my list is a Snake.  One of these days, maybe I’ll get to own one, if my wife allows me to.  Well a guy can dream can’t he.  OK, 1 out of 3 isn’t bad right?

Well Duh!

I would think that just about anything that links your industry to something that puts health fears into people like this flu has been would cause people in the industry to react like this.

Though I must say that calling it “H1N1″ makes me laugh because it looks like the work “Hiney” to me.  So it’s either the “Swine Flu” or the “Hiney Flu”, either way I don’t want to get it.

Yet another hobby?

I’ve known about Geocaching for a while now and have quietly looked into it from a distance.  Then was somewhat introduced to it last June at the Varsity Big Event, only it was on a very small scale.  Ever since then I’ve been quite interested in purchasing a handheld GPS (I already own a unit for my vehicle) and giving it a try.

Earlier this month at roundtable we had a guest speaker come and speak about it a bit and so my interest has becom even more intense.  Combine that with some points that I’ve collected on one of my credit cards (thank you mega-summer 2008 family vacation) and I was able to pick up a basically free (I think that I paid $20) handheld Magellan GPS unit.

I’m excited, hopefully I’ll lose a few pounds, get in better shape, and have some fun while doing it.

So now I’m all set, except for the time to go and actually do it.  I wonder if I can get some of that with the remaining points on my card too.

I didn’t go to the Gym but I did lose weight…

Filed under: Health — Muncey @ 7:32 pm

While I didn’t go to the Gym regularly like this story is talking about, I did lose over 10lbs during my month or so of unemployment recently.

I’m not exactly sure what caused it, but I am happy that to have lost it but it’s not a diet that I recommend to anyone.

Grudge Match!

Filed under: Life — Muncey @ 5:20 pm

This is awesome!  And to think that I was living in Scranton, PA Thanksgiving ’93.  If I had only known I would have gone AWOL and gone to see the game :D
