My son and I like to quote the movie cars.  I will usually start it and he will finish it.  Between the two of us we can quote quite a bit of the movie.  We usually have one that we do quite a bit for a while, then we move on to a different one. The most popular one lately is when Lightening McQueen is saying '1 Winner, 42 Losers, I eat losers for Breakfast".  The best part of it is that my son can't really say the word "Breakfast" it comes out as "Breatpast". I love being a Dad.

If I say "What does Doc say?" he will respond with "Hot Snot, We are back in business" or if I ask "What does Sheriff say?" his response is "Boy, you're in a heap of trouble" or "May Doc have mercy on your soul". Ask him what Fillmore says and he will respond with "I'm telling ya man, every third blink is slower". Basically, any conversation I have with him is nothing but quotes from Cars. When I leave for work I get a "Later Mater, huh that's funny" or a "Goodbye! Ok, I'm good". I love this little guy (and all of my kids).  We really need to get some of these things on video soon.

"There are times when a corps commander's life does not count" - Major General Winfield Scott Hancock For some reason lately, I've been thinking a lot about that quote.  It is a famous Civil War quotation from General Hancock. I first heard it in one of my favorite movies, Gettysburg, when one of General Hancock's aides asks him to get down from his horse because "we cannot spare you".  This happens just as the Confederate bombardment of the Northern position begins as the Confederate army prepares for Pickett's charge. The scene shows General Hancock riding to the front line on his horse amid a lot of smoke and cannon fire.  Colonel Chamberlain, who just the day before lead the 20th Maine in the defense of Little Round Top, has taken cover on the ground and watches and hears the entire exchange.  The look on his face after hearing what General Hancock says is almost a look of enlightenment and inspiration.
