I had to run a few errands this afternoon, one of which was to exchange a few Christmas gifts.  Nothing major, just a couple of items that needed to be adjusted. The weather the last few days has been pretty bad.  I've got about 2' of snow on my front lawn right now, so we waited a little while to go out, but when it just kept on snowing we figured that we had better go before it got any worse. The first was at K-Mart.  I was shocked when we walked in.  There was literally nobody in line at Customer Service, we walked right up to the counter and only had to wait for the customer service representative to finish a phone call that she was on, which took about 60 seconds.  The same thing happened when we approached the counter again to make the actual exchange. If it hadn't been for a little shopping around, we would have been in and out in 5 minutes or less. We went a few other places and eventually ended up at Wal*Mart, where it was a little busier but still wasn't as bad as I have seen the day after Christmas.  We had our exchange taken care of within about 10 minutes. So my question is, was this due to the bad weather or the bad economy or both?
